Senior Quantity Surveyor

A local construction group are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work from their Shropshire office.

The role:
Working in a team of 2 Quantity Surveyors and a Buyer, with responsibility for the financial performance of construction projects.
These will include 9 current sites that include commercial construction and residential schemes. These include house building,care homes,bespoke new builds and conversion/refurbishment projects.

Overall responsibilities of the role:
The role will involve (but won't be limited to):
Senior Quantity Surveyor:

- Management and control of tender processes

- Assessment and reporting on Contractual obligations (pre and post tender)

- Maximising the commercial results of projects against budgets

- Producing and maintaining internal and external project cash flows and reports

- Management of valuations, variations and cost reporting

- Financial and Contractual Management of Sub-contractors and procurement of same

- Preparing Bills of Quantities and carrying out value engineering projects

- Implement commercial management procedures for day to day applications for payment, procurement, cost reports, audit trails, site activity records etc

- Developing collaborative relationships with clients and key contacts

- Identifying risks and opportunities for growth and savings

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be professionally qualified and will be time served as a Senior QS in a similar role.
They must have exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and be comfortable dealing with all types of people from site personnel to clients and everybody in between.
