We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us aligned with a major project in the North East. 

Location: Morpeth, Newcastle 

Contract: Full Time, Permanent 

What will you be responsible for?

As Quantity Surveyor yo will work as part of a commercial team aligned with a project circa £75M that will involve the delivery of major construction on an existing prison campus. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take a key role in the management and mitigation of cost and risk of projects, to enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality under the specific agreed contract conditions.

Your day to day will include:

  • Advising on financial feasibility of projects at early stages
  • Organising the division of projects into component work packages for procurement.
  • Assessing returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages, negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achieve best value.
  • Managing applications for payment from sub contractors, preparation of applications for payment to clients.
  • Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the form of CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports and preparation of final accounts

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great  for you if:

  • You can demonstrate surveying experience on large, high value construction projects 
  • You have worked extensivley within the main contractor environment 
  • You have strong understanding of NEC and JCT conditions
