MBC, a leading construction company specializing in high-value projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in managing costs, contracts, and project finances across a range of schemes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements and project goals.
    • Establish strong working relationships to ensure successful project delivery.
  2. Feasibility Studies:

    • Conduct thorough feasibility studies to assess project viability.
    • Evaluate proposals to ensure they align with project objectives.
  3. Cost Estimation:

    • Estimate material quantities, labor, and time required for each project phase.
    • Provide accurate cost projections to inform decision-making.
  4. Document Preparation:

    • Prepare comprehensive tender and contract documents.
    • Ensure clarity and accuracy in all contractual paperwork.
  5. Risk and Value Management:

    • Implement effective risk management strategies.
    • Optimize project value while maintaining cost control.
  6. Contract Negotiation:

    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Secure favorable terms for the project.
  7. Project Oversight:

    • Monitor progress, analyze outcomes, and track project performance.
    • Write detailed budget reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  8. Client Satisfaction:

    • Ensure clients receive value for money throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Address any concerns promptly and professionally.
  9. Contractual Expertise:

    • Provide expert advice on contractual claims and disputes.
    • Resolve issues efficiently to minimize project delays.
  10. Reporting and Planning:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in principal contracting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., Excel, cost estimating software).
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
