Our client is a family run organisation specialising in commercial, residential, and refurbishment developments. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team. As a Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and adherence to budgets while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost estimates, budget preparation, and cost control for commercial, residential, and refurbishment developments.
  • Procurement of materials, subcontractors, and services, ensuring value for money.
  • Evaluating and managing project risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project success.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and providing cost advice to support decision-making.
  • Monitoring project progress and financial performance, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Managing variations and change orders, negotiating contracts, and resolving disputes.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and practices within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in commercial, residential, and refurbishment developments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software.
  • Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., MRICS) is desirable but not essential.
