Salary: Permanent - c £40,000

Location: Pershore - easily Commutable from Worcester , Redditch, Cheltenham , Gloucester , Evesham , Tewkesbury, Droitwich, Kidderminster, Birmingham

Hours: Flexible hours pattern.

Overview

An exceptionally successful manufacturing Company supplying a wide range of key sectors is seeking a Senior Quality and Safety Engineer. The Senior Quality and Safety Engineer will be conversant with and fully understand modern standards and will be expected to improve these by constantly monitoring methods of production ensuring the company’s QMS/H&SMS, policies and procedures are adhered to and followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities

-The company is BS EN 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 accredited and has to perform within these required remits. The successful individual will be fully qualified within these standards and will be required to lead the company through future audits and recertification -The role will also oversee the future development and attainment of BS ISO 14001

- Environmental management system (EMS)

Core duties

-Oversee the management of all designated quality projects ensuring quality standards are maintained and programme targets met within the overall framework of business objectives -Manage the effectiveness of the company’s quality management system and ISO legislation through regular line and system audits, as well as utilising a range of quality tools such as SPC, 8D, PPAP, ECN, INC, SCAR, Lean, Six-Sigma

-Attend departmental Risk assessment meetings

-Prepare full PPAP packs and submit with production of current (weekly basis) and new sample parts

-Handling, programming, and operating instruments such as the CMM’s, Height Gauges, Micrometres and Verniers in the inspection of manufactured parts

-Responsible for Calibration of all instruments and gauges and maintaining records -Inspecting of all subcontracted products with respect to sampling plan

-Facilitate RCA of customer complaints to ensure effective and sustainable corrective action plans and successful resolution

-Lead and work within improvement teams, ensuring corrective actions are robust and effectively implemented

-Work directly with our sub-contracting Health and Safety Officer to continue to pursue improvements to our Health and Safety management system, planning and facilitating our continued rolling action plan, ensuring actions are overcome across our facilities. -Responsibility for making informed decisions regarding line hold ups due to quality problems

-Lead and assist in the training of quality and safety awareness, working with Directors, Supply Chain Manager, Production Supervisor and Senior Technical Engineer to raise standard of all aspects of Quality and Safety across the company’s footprints through facilitation of meeting and tool-box led approaches

-Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained

-To contribute to continuous improvement activity within the business -Monitor and analyse process capability including data collection and provide robust monthly reporting of QM performance to Directors

-Ensure that the Company complies with COSHH and REACH requirements

-Report & Investigation of Accidents and Incidents (inclusive of RIDDOR)

Role / Candidate Requirements

-Experience in a high paced engineering/manufacturing environment is essential.

-A degree qualification is desired for this post but an HND/ role experience is also acceptable.

-An additional HSE related/professional qualification is desirable

-The candidate must be PC literate/comfortable with Microsoft packages and be able to produce high quality written reports. The company also uses Sage 50 and a bespoke manufacturing system called Lotus.

-Full UK Driving licence, and own transport

-Excellent customer service and communication skills

-Automotive Quality sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to influence and maintain a good rapport with all levels of staff

-The successful individual will fully review the company’s Quality and H & S procedures, before submitting and delivering a robust improvement plan, to ensure future performance expectations are exceeded.
