Senior Project Accountant

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to join Lockheed Martin UK Strategic Systems in Helensburgh, Scotland. Lockheed Martin are one of the world's largest defence companies and working here will give you the opportunity to work on interesting programmes that support national security.

Key Information:

- Helensburgh, Scotland (some travel to various UK locations)

- Hybrid

- 9 day fortnight!

- 37.5 hrs a week

- Permanent

Your Responsibilities:

- Budget Management: Compile and review budgets using actual performance and data sources.

- Coordinate financial cost analyses functions, maintaining the cost accounting system.

- Ensure compliance with Corporate policies and allocate costs according to established procedures.

- Support formal reporting for long-term and short-term financial planning.

- Collaborate with program and financial management, ensuring conformance with processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a Project Accounting role.

- Finalist or recently qualified in CIMA, ACCA, ACA (or equivalent) plus industry experience.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction at a senior management level.

- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel modelling.

Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of Enterprise Application Software (SAP preferred).

- Previous Financial and/or business management experience in large-scale development/MOD programs.

- Experience in Project Management.

- Critical thinking and cost management principles application.

- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.

Business Environment

Lockheed Martin UK - Strategic Systems (LMUK SS) is the single contractor providing specialist Waterfront In-Service Support to one of the Royal Navy's Submarine Programs. The company provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, is also responsible for the management of operations at RNAD Coulport. Looking to the future, LMUK SS supports the joint US and UK submarine design efforts.
