Role: Senior Procurement Officer

Salary: £47,000 - £54,000

Location: Wolverhampton

Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting a Senior Procurement Officer to join a Public Sector organisation in Wolverhampton on a permanent basis. The role offers a holiday allowance of more than 30 days + bank holidays, 3 days p/w from home and a good pension scheme.

The Role:

• Responsible for above-threshold strategic procurement projects in line with the Public Contracts Regulations
• Contract and supplier relationship management
• Ensure that all procurement and contract management activity is undertaken in accordance with agreed corporate procurement process
• Liaise with stakeholders of all levels on a regular basis to ensure that procurement plans are in place and adhered to
• Provide specialist procurement advice to a range of stakeholders
• Keep up to date and track market intelligence in order to implement best procurement practice
• Manage a small team, providing support and regular 1 to 1s
• Deputise for the Head of Procurement when required
• Work across several different category areas

The Person:

• End to end tendering experience
• Strong understanding of Public Contract Regulations
• Previous experience working in the Public Sector
• Experience of either managing staff or a project team
• Great IT, written and verbal communication skills
