Senior Practitioner - Safeguarding and Care Planning (Courts Team)

Salary: Up to £50,803 per annum plus benefits

Location: Bromley Civic Centre with flexible working options

Job Type: Full-time

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our Safeguarding and Care Planning team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children at significant risk, where court intervention is necessary. Day to Day of the role:

Work within the Court Team, focusing on children at significant risk of harm.

Prepare and articulate evidence in care proceedings and write high-standard reports for court and adoption panels.

Meet court timelines for the submission of statements and care plans, ensuring timely and effective permanent care planning for children.

Undertake comprehensive assessments, plan interventions, and work creatively with children and families in court proceedings.

Assess and analyse risks, with a good understanding of child development, attachment theories, and permanency needs.

Implement direct work with children, keeping their best interests at the centre of all planning.

Collaborate with colleagues across teams and partner agencies, including legal representatives and Guardians within the court arena.

Manage a limited caseload to maintain the highest standards of practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Recent court experience in a similar safeguarding role.

Well-organised with effective communication skills.

Ability to write concise, evidence-based reports for court and adoption panels.

Good understanding of safeguarding thresholds, child development, and attachment theories.

Experience in undertaking risk assessments and direct work with children.

Registered with Social Work England or able to obtain registration prior to commencement of employment.

Degree, Masters, C.Q. S.W., Dip.S.W., or equivalent qualification in social work.
