EXPERIENCED POLICE OFFICERS, SOUTH AUSTRALIA POLICE

South Australia Police (SAPOL) is seeking experienced Police Officers from the UK to fill General Duties Police Officer vacancies in South Australia (SA).

Some of the key tasks you will perform in this role include:

  • Preventing, detecting and investigating offences in areas such as street offences, family

violence, traffic, drugs and alcohol.

  • Securing and examining crime scenes and accidents to locate and obtain evidence.
  • Maintaining public safety.
  • General Patrols in identified areas to minimise the potential for public disturbance and crime.
  • Investigating accidents, crimes, minor offences and public complaints, gathering evidence

and investigating, arresting and interviewing suspects.

  • Testing persons suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and issuing

infringement notices for traffic offences.

  • Directing and controlling traffic at congested areas.
  • Attending at community engagement events.
  • Providing advice and assistance to victims of crime and their families.
  • Maintaining records and preparing reports.
  • Attending court.

ELIGIBILITY

To secure a place on a SAPOL Transition Program in 2024, applicants must:

  • meet Department of Immigration visa eligibility requirements to obtain an Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186) under the labour agreement stream
  • be an experienced Police Officer within the UK have a minimum of three years’ continuous and active service within the past five years (not including any initial training period), and
  • hold a current full class driver’s licence or equivalent.
