Senior Planner
Location: Skipton
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 DOE + benefits

The Opportunity
Joining an exceptional multi-disciplinary team, who specialise in the dynamic field of rural development and all its complexities, whilst offering an environment that is conducive to productivity, you are empowered to make a meaningful impact whilst developing your knowledge within the field.

The Role
Engaging with clients and collaborating with other professionals, taking ideas from conception to completion all whilst pioneering rural development projects nationwide, you’ll be pivotal in carving the way for future projects. You will be accountable for driving innovation, sustainable growth in communities and responsible for the following:
  • Manage various planning applications, appeals and pre-application inquiries
  • Prepare planning documents such as sequential assessments and planning statements to support applications
  • Progress applications through the planning system and liaise with local planning authorities
  • Communicate with relevant parties regarding application status and queries
  • Conduct site assessments including site inspections and policy analysis
  • Implement stakeholder and public consultation strategies
  • Deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders
  • Formulate planning strategies and submit representations for development plan documents

The Ideal Candidate
At this point in your career, you’ll possess strong commercial acumen, with a demonstrable track record in driving business development initiatives and a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in planning.

The ideal candidate will exhibit resourcefulness, flexibility and ambition. Further to the above you’ll:
  • Have an exceptional grasp of client relationship management
  • Possess brilliant presentation skills
  • Be able to effectively manage workloads, budgets, and project coordination
  • Have a proven track record in both business development and successful project delivery
