Senior Payroll Advisor - Accountancy Practice - Liverpool City Centre
To ensure professional and competent payroll services are provided to our clients, ensuring all requirements are accurate and delivered on time.
To support the payroll team in delivering the required service to our clients.
Main Duties
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration of multiple client payrolls with minimal supervision ensuring all required deadlines are met.
- In depth knowledge of statutory payroll legislation and ability to process manual calculations.
- Developing relationships and supporting clients and internal contacts with any payroll queries they may have.
- Extensive knowledge of pension auto-enrolment compliance and the various pension providers
- Liaise with HMRC and other 3rd parties resolving any client queries.
- Ensure accurate bills are raised to clients as required in a timely manner.
- Ensure that you communicate any problems/issues as soon as they arise to the Payroll Manager so they can update the relevant client partner.
- Assist and support other members of the team when the need arises.
- Involved with onboarding of new staff and mentoring junior team members.
Personal Specification
Minimum of 3 years payroll experience in a practice environment
Minimum 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) grades A-C required
Understanding of current legislation
Use of payroll software - ideally Iris Professional Payroll.
Good IT & numeracy skills
Advanced excel knowledge
Organised and able to prioritise workload
Enjoys teamwork
Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail
