An excellent, well established childcare provider is seeking a Senior Nursery Practitioner to join the dynamic team located in the Andover area. With the need to continue providing care for children and infants to a high standard, the business is seeking to expand its team to ensure that this high quality of care, that has received them “Good” Ofsted ratings, continues into the future. As a company based on strong values, and having been operational for several decades now, they have built a strong sense of culture and acceptance within the business. Each member of staff promotes the ideas of delivery person-centred and tailored care to every child under their supervision, to help advance development and provide a safe and welcoming environment for them.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Planning and implementing development and learning experiences for children under supervision, ensuring these activities meet the requirements of the statutory framework.
  • Remaining observant of the children, taking note of when they engage and show their interests and provide invitations to extend their learning through play, by catering activities to their interests.
  • Ensuring that assessments, recording and reporting of progress and activities are conducted, in line with appropriate framework.
  • Acting as a ‘key person’ to an assigned group of children, to lead their development and be a point of contact regarding their care.
  • Effectively liaising and working alongside parents and other relevant parties to relay information about welfare and development and ensure that all children are fully supported, ensuring that liaisons are kept in line with statutory framework.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure that high standards for safety, hygiene and tidiness throughout the site are maintained, including in bathrooms, nappy changing areas, food preparation and other service areas alongside the care of equipment and toys in use.
  • Partaking in performance management reviews, ensuring that training and knowledge of best practices, procedures and policies are kept up to date.
  
 
What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will preferably possess an Early Years Care or relatable Education qualification at Level 3 or higher, and alongside this, the business is seeking applicants with at least 2 years of experience within an Early Years care setting. Applicants will need to possess strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework and understand how this supports early development and learning. Additionally, candidates will need experience of handling IEP’s and EHCP’s as well as knowledge of working with children with disabilities and whose first language is not English. All applicants must have a good level of spoken and written English skills, alongside an adequate proficiency with general IT software such as Microsoft Office, and also a confident and compassionate demeanour.

For the successful candidate a base salary of just over £25,500 will be on offer, alongside a good peripheral package including a competitive holiday allocation, the option of an opt in pension scheme and the possibility of referral bonuses. There are also a couple of different options for working capacity to suit the individual applicant, with the business open to discussions for the successful candidate to work either part-time hours (28.5 hours over 3 days per week) or full-time hours (40 hours per week).
