6 Month Contract
Basildon - 1 week on-site to start with, then fortnightly
£50ph Outside IR35

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Precision Guidance Integrated Project Team (IPT) on a short- term contract to assist with the design and documentation for the next generation of Missile Seeker. The successful candidate will be experienced in the Airborne and Defence Industry, have used PTC Creo and Teamcentre Unified.

Key Experience we are looking for -

• Defence and/or the Aerospace Industry domain experience
• Perform 'hands on' mechanical design and development using 3D CAD software
• Skilled in use of PTC Creo application
• Experience in creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) using a PLM system (e.g. Teamcenter Unified).
• Experience in using Teamcenter Unified
• Experienced within design of electronics enclosures to meet environmental and EMC requirements.
• Knowledgeable in the design of opto-mechanical sub-assemblies
• Knowledge of Cable Harness design, including Connector selection, screening, strain relief methods
• Demonstrable experience in producing numerical calculations, tolerance studies to support design solutions
• Working knowledge of BS8888 and GD&T
• Experienced in various aspects of DfX, including Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Integration and Sustainability.
• Strong communication skills and experience of working as part of an Integrated Project Team (IPT)
• Proficient in working autonomously to achieve compliant solutions Essential Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and significant levels of uncertainty
