Job Title: Senior Management Team-Children & Young People's Commissioner

Salary / Pay Rate: £341.56 P/H (Umbrella)

The Role
We are looking for a children's Commissioner to start as soon as possible to provide additional capacity to the Children's Commissioning and Quality Assurance Team whilst a restructure of the commissioning functions takes place. This is a hybrid working contract and, the successful candidate will be expected to be on site for a minimum of one to two days per a week, with Thursday being the whole team day in the office. The successful candidate will have no line management or budget responsibility.

The children's commissioner will be responsible for leading on all aspects of end-to-end commissioning. One of the priority areas of work, but not exclusively will be Supported Living/Semi Independent Living which needs to progress at pace. There is a Supported Living/Semi Independent Living project group established and service user consultation has been conducted but this now needs to be translated into modelling and commissioning of an appropriate service(s).

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced children, young people, and families Interim Commissioner with a successful track record on an initial 3-6 month contract. Recent experience of Semi Independent Living for care leavers and UASC would be an advantage.

* Strong delivery experience of undertaking end to end commissioning activities
* Stakeholder engagement
* Previously worked in a local authority
* Proven ability to work fluidly in ambiguous circumstances.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Demonstrate an analytical and strategic approach in previous roles
