Senior Management Accountant

My client is seeking a new high-calibre senior management accountant to undertake a broad role including involvement in financial planning and analysis and financial reporting activity.

My client are a private equity backed business who are a leading distributor within their sector. They are a key wholesaler and distributor to a wide range of clients, and have a number of sites globally across warehouses and sales sites.

My client is looking to engage a high quality senior management accountant to join the growing finance team. This role will be key in supporting the finance director and will have involvement across a broad range of activities, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a dynamic and growing company.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Reporting

· Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review

· Provide variance analysis and insights into key financial metrics to assist in decision-making.

Budgeting and forecasting

· Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage the annual budget

· Prepare regular forecasts to ensure alignment with financial goals and industry trends

Cost Analysis

· Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

· Monitor and report on cost trends, providing recommendations for optimization.

· Manage the process for budget holder accountability

Month-End Close

· Coordinate and lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.

· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

Financial Planning

· Assist in long-term financial planning and strategy development.

· Evaluate the financial impact of business decisions and provide financial guidance.

Compliance

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

· Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Profile

The ideal candidate for this senior management accountant role will:

· Be formally qualified - ACA, CIMA or ACCA

· Have proven management accounting and reporting experience.

· Be an excellent communicator and problem-solver.

· Understand what good looks like, and seek to improve processes wherever possible

· Be comfortable working on and improving ERP systems (Netsuite Oracle would be particularly advantageous)

· Have exposure to working with Private Equity, Venture Capital or Investment led companies, and be able to meet a range of reporting requirements.

· Be keen to continue to improve and develop within a high calibre team

Job Offer

• Base salary of circa £60,000 (Potential flexibility depending on experience)
