We are now looking for a Senior Housing Enforcement Officer to join us at the Three Rivers Housing Services in Rickmansworth on a full-time permanent basis.

The Role

As a Senior Housing Enforcement Officer, you will lead the day-to-day casework of the Residential Environmental Health team.

Reporting to the Strategic Housing Manager, you will lead on inspections, investigations and advice given in relation to the statutory housing enforcement functions and other work areas of the Residential Environmental Health department.

You will inspect residential properties to identify and rate hazards, as well as enforcing remedial works to remove or reduce them.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage enforcement documents
- Provide complex and technical advice, acting as a “knowledge hub”
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation
- Obtain and preserve evidence to progress cases

About You

To be considered as a Senior Housing Enforcement Officer, you will need:

- A certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB) or Chartered status
- An up-to-date understanding of all aspects of environmental health and public health
- Effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with members of the public
- A degree or diploma (or equivalent qualification) in environmental health
