Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a Local Authority who are looking to identify an interim Financial Accountant to join the Council, as part of proactive plans to strengthen their Finance Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to add value on a project basis, in a role that can offer remote working. 

The key responsibilities include;

  • Leading on the creation, coordination, and development of annual capital budget, including the implementation of a sound and robust financing plan
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of the annual statement of accounts
  • Overseeing business case approvals for key capital projects
  • Supporting business plans 
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management

The person;

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong technical skillset with a thorough understanding of capital accounting
  • Local Government Finance experience (wider public sector also considered)
  • Ability to present reports to Senior Management
