I am looking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join an Insurance Brokerage company based in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of statutory accounts and leading the audit process. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while contributing to the overall financial health and success of the company for an initial 6 month period.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Statutory Accounts Management:
    • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of statutory financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary financial data and information for statutory reporting purposes.

  • Audit Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and coordinate all aspects of the audit process.
    • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries.
    • Proactively identify and address potential audit issues or discrepancies, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
    • Review audit findings and implement necessary corrective actions to address any identified deficiencies or areas for improvement.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
    • Stay abreast of relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
    • Interpret and apply accounting standards and regulatory guidelines to financial reporting activities.
    • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory concerns or inquiries related to financial reporting and audit matters.

  • Process Improvement and Optimization:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.
    • Implement best practices and recommend process enhancements to drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and audit management.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and ensure effective implementation and adoption.


    Qualifications and Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit roles within the insurance or financial services industry.
    • Experienced working within Audit - Ideally within the Big 4
    • Strong technical expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements applicable to insurance companies.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing statutory accounts preparation and audit processes.
    • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to mentor and develop team members.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
