Key Results

  • Support the Domiciliary Care Lead in the day to day running of a comprehensive care and support service including assessing residents' care needs and formulating care packages.
  • Maintains record and consistently works in line with regulatory bodies - for example but not exclusive to GDPR, CQC, HSE, Local Authority expectations etc.
  • Support the Lead in ensuring shifts are covered and worked; rota coordination; payroll; timesheets and signing off care certificates.
  • Act as the 'go-to' for a variety of resident care package related queries including complex care - general customer service.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across and externally to St Monica Trust.
  • Support care team with care, domestic and laundry duties (complex care, meds, personal care, mobility etc.). Fulfil rostered on-call duties.
  • Deputise for Dom Care Lead when required.

  • Support team leader/line manager in recruitment and selection of new colleagues.
  • Oversee Bank and Agency workers, allocating work and general line management responsibilities.
  • As relevant, contribute to colleagues' performance reviews.
  • Monitors workflows.

  • Liaises with other teams/departments and external partners/contacts as service area expert.

Other Skills and Qualifications


Essential

  • Experience of working within a nursing home, hospital, extra care housing of domiciliary care service.
  • Understanding of the needs of older people, including dementia and complex care needs.
  • Good level of IT skills (Microsoft packages).
  • Health and Safety risk assessment and Safeguarding knowledge and experience.
  • Health and Social Work legislation and CQC requirements.
  • Care Certificate.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in social care.
  • Experience of supervising others.
  • Experience of electronic care planning.
  • First Aid, food hygiene and Manual Handling

Pay: £14.05 basic per hour, plus enhancements for weekend working.

Hours: 20 hours per week
