Homes for Students is the leading independant provider of Student Accommodation.

We are seeking a talented Senior Designer to join our team to assist with the creation and delivery of inspiring and engaging creative across multiple online and offline channels. As Senior Designer, you will work closely with the Marketing Team to support delivery of multiple campaigns, brand collateral and digital assets. This role is full time, working 40 hours per week 9.00am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. 

Working under the direction of the Design Manager, you will be accountable for delivering knock-out creative work with consistent branding across web, social, print and marketing touchpoints. You will be a fountain of ideas and creative thinking, with a firm grasp of effective design practices and a keen eye for detail and consistency.

Major duties:

  • Lead on the delivery of artwork for seasonal marketing campaigns 
  • Managing the pipeline of design projects and tasks
  • Lead on the design process from creative development to sign off for artwork. 
  • Ensure all design work is executed with creative flair, at pace and to the required brand standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of the brand, the customer, and the commercial objectives when responding to briefs – and develop this within the team.
  • Constantly maintain awareness of new trends in design, on and off-line, and how these can be appropriately applied to the brand.
  • Manage multiple briefs and communicate progress accurately to wider teams.
  • Support and mentor the design team with projects and personal development.
  • Co-ordinate and manage production and distribution of print collateral, marketing materials and digital assets
  • Assist in the creation of clear campaign communication packs as required
  • Make recommendations for campaign optimisation as appropriate
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the student accommodation market and relevant competitors and suggest upgrades and enhancements accordingly
  • You may sometimes be required to liaise with suppliers and freelance staff with regards to creation of artwork and collateral, production, scheduling and distribution
  • Maintain collateral and materials within brand guidelines across each of our brands, and encourage and support the wider business in the same
  • Some national travel may be required infrequently to attend meetings etc
  • Undertake other tasks and duties as assigned from time to time by the Design Manager.

Skills:

  • Must have very strong design skills with a keen eye for detail and a creative flair
  • Must have strong written English skills
  • Proven track record within design and creative
  • Experience with social media and email marketing campaigns
  • Intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills and communication skills

Essential :

  • A detailed portfolio of previous work
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign & After Effects
  • Good understanding of social media marketing assets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • At least two year design experience with a proven commercial track record.

Desirable:

  • A degree in graphic design or a related subject
  • Experience of marketing and design within the student sector
  • Experience of managing workloads or a team.

For Homes for Students to work effectively, you may be required to assist with other areas of work and therefore, you should be prepared to undertake other duties appropriate to the post, as delegated by your line manager. Homes for Students operates over 44,000+ beds across the UK and Ireland therefore some travelling may be required with the role.
