A great opportunity has arisen for a senior design engineer to join a leading engineering company who provide expert solutions to a variety of industries including automotive and industrial.

Job Description:

  • Design automated assembly machines, semi-automated work cells and manual tooling aids for factory production equipment
  • Analyse customer requirements, create specifications and work in a multi discipline team environment to develop the scope, design and drawing package for manufacturing equipment
  • Support, debug, troubleshooting, and integration activities
  • Analyse, specify and select commercial components.
  • Evaluate strength and cycle time requirements
  • Review drawings and prepare drawing documentation
  • Communicate with team members from various departments and suppliers including customers, suppliers, manufacturing, electrical and design teams.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, HNC or Apprenticeship with proven experience in the Industry
  • Experience in the design of machines and solutions for automated production processes from concept to delivery
  • Production of engineering drawings, 3D-CAD models and technical files using Solidworks
  • Disciplined approach to project planning and project management
  • Ability to present designs to customers
  • Knowledge of current British Standards
  • Preparing BOM
  • A talent in researching new designs, operations and performance of equipment and systems
  • Creative mind to develop new ideas to incorporate into designs to make them more effective
  • Systematic problem solving
