Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Newport - Hybrid (once a quarter)

From this continued success we are now looking to recruit a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to allow them to continue our exciting growth plans. As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will assist in the development of risk management processes, frameworks, and policies, and will analyse data to identify potential risk areas. You will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on risk levels to senior management, and for recommending appropriate actions when necessary. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career in a challenging and rewarding field.

The role has three main areas of responsibility. The first is to contribute to the team's capacity to analyse and monitor risks relating to existing market and fixed income counterparties. The second is to carry out a range of credit and market risk monitoring, investigation, and reporting activities. The third is to contribute to static data control by carrying out BAU and static maintenance activities.

Role responsibilities;

  • Assist in the development of risk management processes, frameworks, and policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of risk.
  • Analyse data to support risk identification and assessment.
  • Monitor and report on risk levels to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain risk management documentation.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices.

Key skills required;

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to code in SQL. A basic ability to code in SAS as well is preferable, with a willingness to learn Python a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye on data visualisation using Tableau.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of risk management best practices.
