Senior Cost Negotiator

£40,000 - £48,000

Hybrid (Office locations in Liverpool and Southport)

My client, a rapidly growing law firm specializing in personal injury and clinical negligence law, is seeking a Senior Cost Negotiator to join their expanding team.

My client operates as a leading law firm in the North-West of the UK, with a commitment to offering a hybrid working model that accommodates both office and remote work setups. With offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and Southport, my client fosters a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manages their own caseload using case management software.
  • Instructs Counsel for Detailed Assessment/Oral review or conducts hearings independently.
  • Hits agreed recovery targets and undertakes accurate valuation.
  • Maintains constant communication with fee earners and provides updates to the head of the team.
  • Adheres to SLAs and pipeline metrics, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Provides costs advice to legal teams and assists in bundle preparation.
  • Attends team meetings and provides feedback on recoveries and fee-earning practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Possesses proven experience in dealing with high-value litigation and negotiation cases.
  • Familiar with Proclaim and Cost Master software.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service orientation and good general IT skills.
  • Works effectively within a team and independently.
  • Shows attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
