Senior Cost Planner/Estimator (Pre Construction)

London or Birmingham (Hybrid working) - Must be able to visit London or Birmingham once a week

£80,000 to £85,000 + & package

We are working with a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy, and they have an opportunity for a Senior Cost Planner to join their busy and growing business within their commercial team.

The Estimator or Cost Planner will be working on a variety of different projects, a majority of which sit with large organisations such as Network Rail, Transport for London and Tier 1 contractors within the infrastructure and rail sector.

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our client's team and take on the responsibility of producing accurate cost estimates, encompassing both capital and lifecycle costs, aligned with project scope and timelines. Your role will involve ensuring consistency and quality in all estimates, facilitating reliable comparisons and benchmarks of project costs and performance. You will play a vital role in validating suppliers' and contractors' cost estimates with precision. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing efficient tools and processes to enable the timely and consistent production of estimates to a unified standard. As part of your duties, you may also be involved in preparing cost estimates during project execution to validate contractors' forecasts and assess contract changes.

The Estimator or Cost Planner will need to have experience working for a consultancy with at least 5 years experience in a similar role. You'll also need excellent communication skills and strong commercial acumen. For the senior level role, we will also be looking experience managing a team and leading projects etc.
