I am recruiting for a Senior Contract Advisor on behalf of my client based in Great Yarmouth.  This is a full time, permanent role which offers a competitive package as well as long term progression with a leading business in their field.  

As Senior Contracts Advisor, the successful appointment will provide day to day legal and contractual review, advice and negotiation support to the business and duties will include: 

  • Support the company with all contract matters including support at client meetings 
  • Establishing essential contract and legal amendments versus 'nice to have' criteria
  • Support key stakeholders by providing advice and guidance to manage contractual, transactional, and other legal responsibilities, disputes, governance and compliance across the business globally 
  • Engagement and interaction with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation 
  • Working closely with the Senior Contracts Manager, Contracts Engineer, the leadership team, legal team and the sales and commercial teams.  
  • Identify, understand, quantify and mitigate contractual exposure.  
  • Provide contractual support to the company and provide clear, succinct, and timely commentary focusing on the Terms and Conditions deal breakers  
  • Review, qualify and negotiate terms and conditions of all commercial contracts 

Requirements for the role: 

  • Degree qualified, preferably a legal discipline 
  • Ability to rapidly understand contract risk profiles 
  • Extensive contracts experience focusing on the commercial, energy, construction or corporate legal practice areas.  
  • Experience or good understanding of the complexities of operating in an international group.  
  • Ability to build relationships and trust, both internally and externally 
  • A commercial mind set with the ability to balance risks and opportunities 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Ability to present and negotiate 
  • Experience working in-house in an energy or infrastructure environment would be favourable, but not essential
