Role: Senior Business Development Manager - Military

Location: Europe – Poland Or United Kingdom Preferred

We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Senior Business Development Manager - Military. Operating in Europe this role will require you will lead, maintain, and enhance our sales activities in the region. Working closely with the Military Sales Director and the other business development managers you will act as the face of the organization and help Western expand business with the US Department of Defense (DoD).

What will you be doing as our Senior Business Development Manager?

Achieving Revenue Sales Targets

  • Communicating Western’s value proposition effectively to US Department of Defense (DoD) clients/prospects.
  • Driving new business through prospecting and expanding the existing customer base.
  • Conducting live professional demonstrations/presentations of company products, including the demonstration of heavy equipment in austere conditions.
  • Negotiating in Western’s best interests regarding price, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintaining a high level of activity through phone calls, emails, face-to-face visits, and quoting activities.
  • Utilizing the CRM system to identify, quote, and follow up with prospects.
  • Developing and maintaining a realistic individual pipeline in the designated market share.
  • Assisting in creating RFQ/RFPs, attending trade shows (as required), and conducting customer training (as required).

Increasing Purchase Intents of Targets

  • Identifying key accounts for growth and developing strategies for lucrative conquests.
  • Regularly reviewing Western’s product features and highlighting their benefits to potential US DoD clients.
  • Sharing opportunities to enhance Western’s product lineup for maximizing revenue.

General / Administrative

  • Providing weekly reports on customer visits, calls, follow-ups, closed sales, and pipeline activities.
  • Effectively managing time to contact/visit as many potential US DoD clients as possible.
  • Identifying and addressing potential customer satisfaction issues.
  • Communicating customer expectations on delivery to all necessary departments.
  • Maintaining a consistent demeanor, internally and externally, aligned with Western’s core values.

What we are looking for in our ideal Senior Business Development Manager:

  • Relevant experience in sales or a background in liquid fuel.
  • Dedication to consistently delivering high-quality products to US Department of Defense (DoD) clients.
  • Strong listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomatic proficiency in interactions with staff, US DoD clients, and suppliers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with confidence in expression.
  • High levels of self-motivation, independence, and self-reliance.
  • Capability to work in challenging environments and austere locations.
  • English proficiency at Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) Level C1.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 50% of the time.
  • Previous experience collaborating with DoD prime system contractors/market integrators and developing new business opportunities within targeted US DoD agencies and organizations.
  • Capacity to maintain a Minimum Secret security clearance as required
