An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and highly organised business development professional to join the Marketing & Business Development function of a major law firm to provide support to the Disputes and Antitrust & Competition teams.

Reporting to the Head of BD, UK, and the regional lead partners of the Disputes and Antitrust & Competition practices, you will work in close cooperation with the EMEA and global Marketing & Business Development teams and will have the support of a BD Executive and the firm's expanding support team. The successful applicant will implement strategically aligned, client focused and value-added marketing and business development initiatives, ensuring key practice objectives are achieved. The role will combine day-to-day support for London-based partners in these two practices and working with the wider partnership on EMEA-wide BD initiatives. With responsibility for all aspects of planning and development of business development activity and the targeting of marketing activity, the Senior Business Development Manager will enjoy a broad role developing and implementing annual business plans, budget proposals and campaign plans and overseeing all BD activity, structured client development, including taking formal responsibility as the BD lead on client programme accounts, and producing bespoke bids and panel pitches. On the marketing side, the role holder will lead on profile raising initiatives, including events, and will manage branding and external positioning and relevant award and directory submissions.

The ideal candidate will be a persuasive and assertive team player with a strong background in professional services marketing and business development, ideally gained in a law firm, to include demonstrable success in managing and writing bids. Of graduate calibre or equivalent with a professionally recognised marketing or communications qualification, it is essential that the Senior Business Development Manager possesses excellent written and oral communication skill, is adept in working with stakeholders at all levels of seniority and enjoys working under pressure to manage competing priorities and multiple tasks.
