A great opportunity for a Senior Bridge Engineer with design, maintenance and assessment experience to join our Transportation team based in Penrith. The position involves undertaking and overseeing simple and complex analysis, design and assessment work as well as feasibility and maintenance strategies for various highway structures. Location: Penrith - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Contract: Permanent – flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

Salary: £45k - £50.5k FTE

Responsibilities

As a Senior BridgeEngineer, you'll be working within the Kier Design Solutions team. You will be undertaking and overseeing bridge maintenance projects including structural bridge assessments, design and check calculations and feasibility studies, assisting in the overall delivery of the workload of the Structures Bridge team within the Design Solutions office.

Your day to day will include:

  • Produce, oversee and check scheme designs and maintenance repair strategies, including calculations reports and documentation in accordance with specified briefs and in line with the time and budgetary allocations.
  • Undertake and oversee varying complexity structural bridge assessments
  • Assist in the overall delivery of the workload of the Structures Bridge team within the Penrith Design Solutions Structures office.

Who are we looking for?

This role of a Senior Bridge Engineer is great if you are:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar role within Highways
  • Proven experience of bridge design standards and analysis
  • Management and delivery of projects to programme and budget constraints
