Hays are working with an established successful engineering business in the Stevenage area who are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join the business. This is is a great opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who is looking for a role 30 hours per week.

Your new role

This a great opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper / Finance manager who is looking for a varied role, main duties will include managing all transactional finance Month/year end preparation and payroll administration.Key Duties:

• Managing all supplier payments
• Reviewing monthly Creditors reports
• Process Expenses & Credit card payments.
• Nominal Ledger - Accruals & Prepayment scheduling
• Sales Ledger receipts + reconciliation
• Customer Statement, queries and payment chasing
• Payroll, Auto-enrolment
• CIS + PAYE & reconcile & payments with HMRC.
• Bank Account reconciliation.
• Month end activities - Profit & Loss and balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
• Prepare Year End ready for Audit.
• To prepare and present complete accounts monthly to Director

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate for the role will have experience as a hands on Finance Manager/Bookkeeper working within an SME business, this is a fast paced reactive business and the ideal candidate will be hands on, have excellent communication skills, experience of Accounting Systems and Xero would be advantageous.
