The role
Applications are invited for the role of Senior Administrator at the at the UKRI Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) Transforming Net Zero with Ultrawide Bandgap Semiconductor Device Technology (REWIRE), to provide flexible and effective administrative support to a range of senior managers of REWIRE, who may be academic or professional services staff.

At REWIRE, our aim is to accelerate the UK’s ambition for net zero by transforming the next generation of high voltage electronic devices using wide/ultra-wide bandgap compound semiconductors. Led by Bristol (Academic Director: Professor Kuball), in collaboration with Cambridge and Warwick Universities and industry partners, REWIRE will drive this transformation, taking fundamental research towards proof-of-concept, commercialisation, and exploitation.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide personal administrative assistance to one or more senior managers, including acting as a first point of call for enquiries, resolving queries where possible and undertaking complex diary management.
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the REWIRE through appropriate staff presence, logistics and facilities, with guidance from the manager.
  • Develop and manage processes relating to the REWIRE efficiency and effectiveness and contribute to School/Faculty projects, such as planning space allocation or coordinating the moving to the new Temple Quarter campus.
  • Gather information, prepare and collate documents, and perform basic information analysis for senior management on a range of School- or Faculty-wide initiatives and projects.
  • Develop, maintain and improve REWIRE-wide information and communication systems including SharePoint sites and websites, liaising with central University and Faculty colleagues to ensure these are consistent, compliant and effective.
  • Prepare, edit and issue communications under the direction of and on behalf of senior management.
  • Create, develop and maintain information storage and retrieval systems, accurately handling confidential documentation in line with data protection requirements.
  • Support senior managers in the organisation of events such as away days, showcase events, industry workshops, VIP visits, public lectures and seminars.

You should apply if
Applicants should have level or vocational (NVQ 3-4, level 3-4 business apprenticeship) or equivalent qualifications, plus experience in relevant role. They should have a proven record of effective administration including diary management and ability to manage data and information electronically through databases and spreadsheets.

Candidates are also required to have in-depth knowledge of relevant Microsoft software and be experienced at coordinating and supporting events or projects. Experience of working in Higher Education or a related environment e.g., health service is desirable.
