Senior Accountant - Practice

Kingston

from £55,000 per annum

Are you a qualified accountant with experience in the creative industry? Do you enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and providing them with tailored tax and accounting solutions? Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for developing client relationships?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be the perfect fit for my client, a growing accountancy firm who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their friendly team and support them with their growing client portfolio.

What you will do:

As a Senior Accountant you will

  • Support the team with a client portfolio consisting of SME and entrepreneurial businesses
  • Manage your own portfolio of SMEs and sole traders, providing them with high-quality accounting and tax services
  • Handle billing and fee negotiations with clients
  • Manage and train junior staff and oversee their work
  • Review bookkeeping in Xero and VAT returns prepared by junior staff
  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  • Compute corporation tax and advise clients on tax planning and compliance
  • Correspond with clients and regulatory authorities (HMRC, Companies House etc) as required
  • Draft personal tax returns for sole traders and company directors
  • Undertake ad hoc project work as needed
What you will need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an accountancy firm and being responsible for your own portfolio of clients
  • Experience in the creative industry or a keen interest in working with creative clients
  • Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a very personable approach
  • Some experience of managing and mentoring junior team members
  • A proactive and problem-solving attitude and a willingness to learn and develop
