Are you a qualified accountant with experience in the creative industry? Do you enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and providing them with tailored tax and accounting solutions? Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for developing client relationships?
If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be the perfect fit for my client, a growing accountancy firm who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their friendly team and support them with their growing client portfolio.
What you will do:As a Senior Accountant you will
- Support the team with a client portfolio consisting of SME and entrepreneurial businesses
- Manage your own portfolio of SMEs and sole traders, providing them with high-quality accounting and tax services
- Handle billing and fee negotiations with clients
- Manage and train junior staff and oversee their work
- Review bookkeeping in Xero and VAT returns prepared by junior staff
- Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Compute corporation tax and advise clients on tax planning and compliance
- Correspond with clients and regulatory authorities (HMRC, Companies House etc) as required
- Draft personal tax returns for sole traders and company directors
- Undertake ad hoc project work as needed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience working in an accountancy firm and being responsible for your own portfolio of clients
- Experience in the creative industry or a keen interest in working with creative clients
- Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a very personable approach
- Some experience of managing and mentoring junior team members
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude and a willingness to learn and develop
