Senior Accountant

Cedar is pleased to collaborate with an innovative renewable energy company, pioneering change in the dynamic energy market. We are assisting them in securing a Senior Accountant for their London Office. This role offers a 6-month initial contract with a competitive day rate ranging from £350-400.

Based in London, this forward-thinking business is on a mission to elevate the reputation of the energy industry. The Senior Accountant role is vital for rapidly increasing the team's capacity during a period of heightened demands from both internal and external stakeholders.

The Role

This 6-month contract addresses immediate capacity needs during a demanding period, while the company experiences a significant phase of growth and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute month-end close activities in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring the completeness of financial data.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and deferrals, maintaining detailed documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
• Reconcile and analyse key balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insightful analysis and commentary on variances.
• Participate in process improvements to streamline month-end activities and enhance overall efficiency.
• Lead or support ad hoc finance projects, e.g. cleaning up the debtors and credits ledger.

Your Profile

Ideally, you will have:

• Prior experience in a Senior Accounting role.
• A hands-on approach to the delivery of month end, capable of handling manual tasks and driving process improvement initiatives.
• Prior experience in an interim/contract role would be beneficial but not necessary.
• The rate of £350-400 per day represents a fair value or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
