Primary School Special Education Needs and Disabilities Teaching Assistant

We urgently require special education needs and disabilities (SEND) teaching assistants for day to day, long term and permanent assignments.

Stafflex Education are working in partnership with various primary schools / academies across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield. Our schools require experienced SEND teaching assistants to provide one to one support for specific pupils with additional needs.

Your day to day role as an SEND teaching assistant will include working alongside the class teacher to support your assigned pupil/s across all of the curriculum subjects. You will help develop social skills, keep students on task and play a pivotal part in their learning. You will also help to support the wider class and the teacher as required.

Please ensure that you fulfil and can evidence the criteria below before applying for this role:

• Recent experience working with primary and/or secondary age children, ideally on a one to one basis
• Experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH
• Minimum Level 3 qualified or equivalent
• Supportive and nurturing with excellent behaviour management skills
• Able to build strong working relationships with children and other members of staff
• Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained
• All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy
• You must have legal right to work in the UK
• You must be willing to attend a face to face registration interview
