We have an exciting opening for a SEN Teaching Assistant at a PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) school in West Cardiff. As a dedicated SEN TA, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of these exceptional students.

Role Overview:

• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD)
• Start Date: April 2024
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (term time only)
• Hourly Rate: £12.82/hr (inclusive of holiday pay)
• Weekly Pay: Enjoy consistent weekly paychecks
• Location: Based in West Cardiff, supporting pupils with complex learning needs

Responsibilities: As a SEN Teaching Assistant (PMLD), your compassionate approach and understanding of the unique needs of pupils with complex learning difficulties will be invaluable. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing individualized support to pupils with PMLD, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assisting in implementing personalized education plans tailored to each student’s learning objectives.
• Using effective communication techniques to help pupils understand instructions and engage in schoolwork.
• Encouraging pupils’ confidence and independence while fostering a positive learning environment.
• Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic approach to education.
• Supporting pupils with physical tasks and personal care as needed.

Requirements: To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Experience: Previous experience supporting pupils with special needs, particularly those with complex learning difficulties.
• Attributes: Compassion, patience, and resilience to work with challenging behaviour.
• Qualifications: A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths (grades 9 to 4 or equivalent).
• Enhanced DBS: You must have a current enhanced DBS check or be willing to obtain one.
