Job Title: SEND and Inclusion Tutor
Location: Remote
Duration: 2 Months

My high-profile client are recruiting for a SEND and inclusion Tutor. The role is a remote position. The role requires 2 hours per week, and at least one compulsory talk session each week 3:30 on a Wednesday.

The role will report into the Apprenticeship Manager. The role holder will manage the delivery of SEND and Inclusion programmes.

The postholder will also have key relationships with STS delivery colleagues, administration, Registry and Governance colleagues, External customers such as contracting authorities and bodies.

The role will engage externally with governance and key sector bodies / forums where appropriate.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead on the design of SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA) programmes for the Education Sector, working with the contracts team to ensure programmes meet demand, are financially viable, and meet Ofsted and awarding body requirements.
  • Lead on the development of learning and delivery materials for programmes working with the Continuous Improvement Team, Funding Registry and Governance, and internal and/or third-party product development where relevant.
  • Provision of safeguarding, prevent and learner welfare.
  • Support of health and safety operations to ensure alignment with the Serco SMS and Serco health and safety leadership.
  • To work with colleagues in STS delivery to embed a customer and learner approach to training and service delivery.
  • Lead the operational management of the delivery of SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA) programmes, contributing to planning and policy formation, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Review monthly data for SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA) programmes to support, performance and management against the agreed programme kpi's
  • Support the SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA) programmes, marketing strategy so that take up is in line with the Delivery Plan.
  • Identify and manage operational risks associated with the SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA)
  • Manage change to the SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA) courses or their delivery.
  • Maintain good communications and strong professional links with all personnel involved in the skills delivery.

Skills and Qualifications (Essential)

  • SEND and Inclusion qualification at level 7 (MA) as a minimum, including a good understanding of the SENCo role and how this is operationalised within schools.
  • Experience of delivering, marking, and supporting students at L7.
  • Up to date experience of teaching at L7, online and over Teams.
  • Availability to commit to one taught session each week (3.30pm)
  • Experience of supporting learners with academic development and assignment creation.
  • Commitment to inclusive ideals and professional development for SENCos.
  • Experience of designing and delivering adult vocational programmes for the education sector, including experience of working within a regulated quality environment (OFSTED, awarding bodies etc)
  • Experience of working under pressure to meet customer expectations.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Commitment to personal development and learning
  • Manage own workload, anticipate, and escalate issues as they arise and thrive under pressure.
  • Effective research skills.

Skills and Qualifications (Desirable)

  • Relevant industry experience in the Education sector
