The role is set to start in September 2024 and is a full time, permanent role.

Salary: MPR/UPR £33,814 - £44,870 pro rata per annum

Hours: Full-time, 32.5 hours a week

Main Duties of the SENCO:

  • The SENCO position, free from classroom teaching duties, is a newly established role within the school. It presents an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of our SEN provision.
  • Communicates directly with Head Teachers, Heads of Departments, and School Governors to ensure alignment of the school's SEN policies with national standards, catering to the needs of children with diverse learning requirements.

 Requirements of the SENCO:

  • Demonstrated teaching expertise in either Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, or the foundation stage, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Prior experience as a SENCO and either possessing or working towards the National Award for SEN coordination.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent SEN provision resulting in significant progress for children.
  • Previous involvement in enriching the overall school community.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example.
  • Capability to effectively support a team of LSAs (Learning Support Assistants) working with our SEN students.
