SEN Teaching Assistant
Classroom Support is excited to collaborate with a reputable Primary school in Haringey, seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This opportunity offers the chance to positively impact the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) in a supportive and fulfilling environment.
About the Role:
- Role Description: As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to students, including those with challenging behaviours, to facilitate their academic and personal growth.
- Team Environment: Join a supportive team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
- Duration: This role begins on a long-term temporary basis, with the possibility of transitioning to permanent placement after a specified period of working with the school through Classroom Support.
Requirements:
- Experience: Candidates must have previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour and demonstrate the ability to build strong bonds with students who may struggle to engage.
- Setting: Previous experience in a Mainstream or SEN school setting is advantageous.
- Personality: Ideal candidates will exhibit a blend of firmness and kindness, capable of setting boundaries while maintaining a caring and empathetic approach.
- Specialisations: Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is preferred.
- Working Hours: Candidates must be available Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
- DBS Check: Applicants must already possess or be willing to obtain a DBS with a children's barred check, registered with the update service.
