Holden Knight Education are recruiting for some SEN teaching assistants to work across primary and secondary schools in Preston.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistants will work 1:1 alongside a child day to day.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you must have a positive mind-set and will have strong engagement abilities to support the development of the students. An ideal candidate will need to be able to build rapport with students.

Key skills:

  • To have a good knowledge and understanding of autism and social communication needs and appropriate strategies to support pupils with complex needs.
  • To have knowledge and understanding of social, emotional & mental health needs and cognitive needs, that affect children and young people’s development.
  • Excellent listening skills
  • An ability to build strong, trusting relationships
  • To be resilient and able to take regular responsibility for agreed learning
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in the learning activities
  • To use positive and personalised behaviour management strategies
