Position Overview: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEN to reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to provide tailored support and assistance both inside and outside the classroom. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with SEN
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Creating and adapting learning materials to meet the needs of individual students
  • Supporting students with sensory or communication difficulties
  • Promoting inclusion and fostering positive relationships within the school community

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the learning and development of all students
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools) would be advantageous
