Having autism and navigating the world of work can be challenging.  In this role, you get to support people with autism into work through 121 support.  You will be split between Sheffield (2 – 3 days) and West Yorkshire (2 – 3 days).

Ideally you will have experience of autism and learning disabilities (although mostly autistic clients you are supporting some have learning disabilities).  You will support around 25 clients at a time, delivering a range of support from:
  • 121 coaching sessions helping clients to create CVs and cover letters.
  • Discussing career options which best suit their strengths and interests.
  • Advocating with employers as needed (talking about reasonable adjustments or supporting clients to be able to discuss this)
  • Working closely with clients’ families to gain support.
  • Job coaching – so supporting clients in the place of work as needed and working with employers to support their needs.

If you are passionate about autism or learning disabilities (with some experience around this, either work related or lived experience) this could be a great move.  You will have worked in a role which is either employment support related, such as a recruitment consultancy, careers advisor, employment advisor etc.  Or you will have worked in another role supporting people to achieve goals, such as working as a learning support assistant, teacher, key worker, support worker etc.

Please apply via this advert – everyone gets a response (if by chance you haven’t for any reason, do call the office and we shall action this ASAP for you).  If the response is that we don’t feel your CV is the right fit, the email you receive will tell you how to easily get feedback from a real person.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday 9 – 5 (there might be some slight flex on this depending on needs).
