Join Our Team as a Special Needs Support Assistant in a Mainstream Primary School - Brighton & Hove

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs in an inclusive educational environment? Engage Education is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Support Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Brighton & Hove

This full-time, long-term position starts in April 2024 and continues until the end of the academic year. For the right candidate, there is also the option to apply for a permanent contract. While Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants and those with SEN experience are desired, it's not essential. The daily pay for this rewarding role ranges from £75 to £80, depending on experience.

Role Details:

  • Position: Special Needs Support Assistant

  • Location: Brighton & Hove

  • Start Date: April 2024

  • Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN), mental health support, or support work.

  • Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistants are desired but not essential.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs.

  • Assisting in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Collaborating with classroom teachers and SENCo to implement individualised education plans.

  • Monitoring and tracking student progress and providing timely feedback and support.

  • Offering emotional and behavioural support to students with a focus on their well-being.
