Do you want to make a difference and change lives? Are you a proactive, enthusiastic, and driven individual? If so, we want to hear from you today!

Prospero Teaching are looking for resilient and experienced Learning Support Assistants to work in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Cramlington to start after Easter in April 2024. The school has opportunities available across EYFS-Sixth Form, so regardless of your preference or specialism, we have the perfect opportunity for you.

The roles available are full-time and long-term. For the right candidates, there is the strong possibility that the role will become permanent if this is your preference.

A key part of the role will be to work effectively alongside Class Teachers and other Teaching Assistants to ensure all pupils receive the best possible levels of support that are suited to their individual learning styles and needs.

The role will involve supporting pupils with a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour. Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal, some may require personal care and others may display resistance to engaging with their learning. As a result, your adaptability, resilience, and relationship-building skills as a practitioner will be key.

The school is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children every day.

This role will involve:

  • Supporting young people with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiating learning to suit the needs and learning styles of pupils.
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers and other Learning Support Assistants to provide outstanding levels of support to pupils.
  • Having a "hands on" approach to supporting children in their learning, with a willingness to interact with pupils and engage with them.

This role requires:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • Ideally a childcare-based qualification although again, this is not essential
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
  • An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils

If you are interested in the role and would like to be considered, please apply for the role promptly as the school are looking for staff to start as soon as possible.
