Full-Time Teaching Assistant Needed for SEN School in Wirral Area

We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN school based in Wirral. This is a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible, requiring comfort with providing personal care to students.

About the School: Our Wirral-based SEN school is committed to supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, CLD, and PMLD. We prioritize fostering nurturing environments while maintaining firm boundaries to support both staff and students. Training opportunities, including accredited Team Teach training and Safeguarding, are provided to aid in supporting pupils and advancing your career in education. This role offers the potential for a permanent contract after the academic year.

Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with various Special Educational Needs, including ASD and ADHD. This includes providing 1:1 support for emotional issues and assisting students who may be behind in their work. Additionally, you will be expected to complete progress reports on student development.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Flexibility to provide both 1:1 and group support as needed.
• Ability to handle matters calmly and effectively.
• Commitment and enthusiasm to establish positive relationships with students and provide support to regulate their emotions.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a school environment.
• Resilient and patient nature.
• Availability to start work as soon as possible.
