Teaching Assistant
  • Hourly Rate: From £13.43
  • Location: South Cumbria
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for an immediate start, to work on a 2-2-1 basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and is committed to helping them achieve their full potential.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide 2-2-1 support assisting with pupil's educational and social development.
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver support across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Implement tailored learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
  • Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with the development of social skills and positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEND.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children, SEND experience is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A proactive approach to learning and the ability to engage children in educational activities.
