SEN Teaching Assistant

Winner Education are thrilled to be recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a primary school based in Malvern, Worcestershire. This school is a lovely 1-form entry school which has an amazing reputation for both its staff and pupils. Applicants must be readily available due to the urgency of the position. The role is part time, mornings only, Monday to Friday on a long-term placement.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism
• Support class teacher in preparing and tailoring learning materials based on learner requirements
• Provide support for the child both in the classroom and outside the classroom
• Phonics support
• Monitor pupil progress and communicate progress with main class teacher
• Liaise with the school SENCO with pupil progress and reviewing the child’s EHCP

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Have previous experience working with SEN children, in particular Autism
• Be required to work as a team member
• Have a passion for developing children ready for their school journey
• Require strong behaviour management
• Have a minimum Level 2 TA or equivalent qualification
• Need to have a friendly and positive persona
• Require a strong understanding and knowledge of safeguarding
• Display the skills to be an excellent role model
