SEN Teaching Assistant

Academics are seeking an experienced and empathetic Special Needs Assistant (SEN Teaching Assistant) to carry out a full-time, on-going contract in a lovely Primary SEN School in the Waterlooville area of Hampshire to start ASAP (full time, term time).

You will be required to have experience of working with primary aged children with special educational needs including autism, challenging behaviour and communication difficulties.

Applicants will ideally:

* Have recent experience of supporting in a school setting, ideally within an SEN school
* Have a childcare/education related qualification e.g. CACHE3/NVQ3 in Childcare or care
* Have experience of working with children with SEN/challenging behaviour
* Be able to show good behaviour management skills, whilst remaining calm.
* Be available full-time
* Ideally be based in the local area or happy to travel for work.
* Be friendly and open to new challenges.
* Qualifications such as Makaton, PECS, TeamTeach would be an advantage
