SEN Teaching Assistant

We believe that every child deserves an education that meets their individual needs and supports their unique learning journey. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of our students.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teaching staff to support students with special educational needs. You will play a key role in implementing individualised learning plans, providing one-on-one support, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as directed by the SENCO or class teacher.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and adapting support strategies as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with SEN children is desirable
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging behaviours and situations.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to undergo relevant training as required.
