We are seeking a flexible and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for supply work in a SEN school located in Leeds. This role is crucial for providing continuity of support to children with complex needs on a day-to-day and short-term basis. Candidates should have experience or qualifications in working with a variety of mental and physical disabilities. Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is highly desirable, and the ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings is essential.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Provide support to children with special educational needs on a supply basis, covering day-to-day and short-term absences.
  • Quickly adapt to different classroom environments and work with new students with minimal notice.
  • Implement tailored support strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Collaborate with permanent staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and support the progress and well-being of students during your assignment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience or relevant qualifications in supporting children with a range of mental and physical disabilities.
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is preferable.
  • Excellent adaptability and the ability to integrate quickly into new teams.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A proactive and patient approach to student support.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
