Randstad are recruiting enthusiastic Teachers to join our team working within specialist SEN schools in Leeds, both on a full-time permanent or long-term supply basis, and for general ad hoc and day to day cover teaching. We work with highly rated schools throughout Leeds and West Yorkshire, these SEN Teaching roles are a great chance to work as part of committed departments and experience settings specialised to student requirements such as Learning Difficulties, ASD and SEMH.

You will be working with children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs; Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities, matching you with a school and role that suits your personality and skill set. Applicants for this role need to be nurturing, patient and committed to making learning accessible to children with severe and complex learning difficulties.

Role and responsibilities

The right candidate will be working with young people and children with a range of Special Education Needs: SEMH , SLD, Autism and ADHD. The school is looking for a confident, creative and behaviour mentor that can build positive learning relationships with young people.

  • To have previous experience of working in schools with SEN pupils
  • Patient, passionate and professional
  • To deliver lessons across a range of classes
  • To plan, prepare and deliver to students with challenging behaviour
  • Confident, punctual and eager
  • Plan lessons in P Scales curriculum
  • To be able to manage behaviour effectively and build positive learning relationships with SEN Pupils.
  • Available to work as soon as possible
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
